Introduce

Welding, plumbing, cutting—over more than thirty years in poultry farming, Mr. Guo Jidong, General Manager of Dongfa Poultry Farm in Yucheng County, has become a versatile expert.

As one of the early entrants into Yucheng’s poultry industry, Mr. Guo started raising chickens at the age of about twenty-one. “I knew nothing at the beginning and learned everything by trial and error. It wasn’t an easy journey,” he recalled. From initially raising 400 chickens to now managing tens of thousands, he noted that “chicken farming is both physically and mentally demanding.”

Entrepreneur’s Testimonial

Talking about his cooperation with Egdoo, Mr. Guo mentioned three main reasons:

  • Egdoo specializes exclusively in layer feed, with strong technical expertise, giving confidence in quality.
  • Egdoo’s products offer great value for money—while it’s easy to make high-quality products at a high price, Egdoo manages to achieve high quality at a moderate cost.
  • The sales managers are diligent and sincere—people you can trust.

Based on these considerations, Mr. Guo started using Egdoo feed in 2021. “Egdoo products significantly improve intestinal health in flocks,” he said. “With a healthy gut foundation, pullets easily meet body weight and shank length targets. The last batch weighed and measured at 55 days already reached the 60-day standard. The current batch is also performing excellently—today, at 35 days old, all 60,000 have been sold.”

Achievements

Unlike ordinary pullet farms, Mr. Guo also keeps 30,000 laying hens. “Raising pullets myself helps me better understand the flock’s laying performance and continuously improve the brooding process,” he said. “These 30,000 layers are also fully fed with Egdoo feed. Their laying rate reached 94–95% at 160 days and has stayed high for six months, with no sign of decline. It could last ten months or even a year—I’m very satisfied.”

“Raising pullets from 30 grams to over 700 grams takes far more effort than layer farming,” Mr. Guo explained. “Brooding is like childcare—pullets demand stricter control of air quality and temperature, and management must be meticulous. Sales rely mostly on customer reputation and repeat clients, so maintaining quality is essential to earn their trust.”

Future Vision

For Mr. Guo, chicken farming is a lifelong pursuit. Looking ahead, Dongfa Poultry Farm will continue focusing on pullet development—learning new techniques and concepts to produce better-quality pullets, making customers’ layer farming easier and more profitable, achieving mutual success.
